Free Pick West Virginia vs UCONN: 2-22-10

February 22, 2010

Tonight at 7:00 EST the West Virginia Mountaineers head to UConn to take on the Huskies.  The Mountaineers are on a roll right now and are currently ranked eighth in the nation.  The Huskies on the other hand seem to be headed in the opposite direction.

This game has opened up as a pick ‘em and the public is completely one-sided on this one as they are all over West Virginia.  We love UConn tonight and we are stepping out.  Look for the Huskies to regain their competitive edge tonight in front of their home crowd and will win by double digits.

Free Pick:  UConn Pick ‘em

Free Pick Chicago Bulls vs Washington Wizards: 2-22-10

February 22, 2010

Tonight the Chicago Bulls head to Washington to take on the Wizards at 7:05.  The Bulls come to town as a three point favorite here tonight.  The general betting public is all over the Bulls and we like the home underdog here tonight.

The Wizards have amassed nineteen wins this season and most of those have come on their home court.  Take the Wizards tonight plus the three and try to maximize your profit it you can get the money line through your account.

Free Pick: Washington Wizards +3

Free Pick Orlando Magic vs Cleveland Cavaliers: 2-21-10

February 21, 2010

We are not looking to make a habit here of betting against the Cleveland Cavaliers but once again we like this spot for the Orlando Magic, their opponent.  The Magic are a two point favorite at home today and the Cavs seem to have  hit a little bump in the road.

The general public is on the side of the Cavs, as usual, so that is no surprise, however, what will be a surprise today is how easily the Magic will handle the Cavaliers on their home court.

The Magic are a very good team and they are catching Cleveland at a very good time. Cleveland will pull out of this little rut that they are in, just not today in Orlando.

Free Pick:  Orlando Magic +2

Free Pick Villanova vs Pittsburgh 2-21-10

February 21, 2010

Today the third ranked Villanova Wildcats head to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers in a Big East clash of the Titans.  Pittsburgh is ranked nineteenth in the nation and are a 2.5 point underdog in this contest.

The general betting public sees this game through the eyes of the Wildcats as over 80% of the wagers placed on this game are for Villanova.  They will lose today at the hands of the Panthers.

Pittsburgh will get the job done on their home court today and score a huge victory within their conference.  Expect them to come out with a lot of energy, take the lead early and hold onto it in a close win.

Free Pick: Pittsburgh +2.5

New York Yankees 2-20-10

February 20, 2010

Let me start by saying that I am not a New York Yankees fan.  In fact, I despise New York Yankee fans, I don’t like watching the New York Yankees make all of the trades that they do and I most definitely do not like anything about watching the New York Yankees win.  All that being said we have to agree to respect the way in which they conduct their business.  Let us be clear, the New York Yankees operate within the rules of baseball.  They do not break any of the rules in which the MLB organization has put into place.  They simply are willing to do things that other teams are not.  There are a lot of other great baseball organizations out there that just do not put as much money back into their team because they are looking for a profit.

The New York Yankees are concerned with only one thing, winning.  Many other organizations claim that this is their top priority but when push comes to shove the New York Yankees always get their man.  They are not afraid of their big contracts or the amount of money that it might cost to get the best players, they simply go out and get who they think will help them to achieve the ultimate goal of winning the World Series in October (actually now it often ends in November).

Now, I know that they have the most championships that any team has in any sport (yes, that makes me just as sick as you if you feel the same way I do) and therefore that creates a gigantic fan base which in turn generates more money for the organization to spend on the team that they put on the field.  But, how do you think that they got to this point? they got here by putting a winning product on the field each and every year since the mid 1990s.

The bottom line is that there are many other MLB teams who could open up their wallets to grab that extra player or two to make their team that much more competitive.  They simply don’t do it.  It is for that reason that the New York Yankees have laid out the perfect blueprint for how to run a successful organization and keep their fans happy.

The New York Yankees, love them or hate them, get the job done on a year to year basis and for that reason we must respect them as an organization.

Free Pick Oklahoma City vs New York Knicks: 2-20-10

February 20, 2010

Tonight the new look Knickerbockers take on the Oklahoma City in their first game since bringing Tracy McGrady and freeing up some salary cap room while doing so.  The Knicks have big plans for next year and this move validates that even further.  They want Lebron!  Will they get him, time will tell, but, now back to this game.

McGrady, even though he is no longer in his prime, brings some new hope and energy to this Knicks team.  He will provide them with the spark that they need tonight to secure an outright victory in front of the Madison Square Garden crowd.

The Knicks are a six point underdog but they will win outright.  Don’t mess around with the spread tonight, take the Knicks in the money line.  Increase your winnings and thank me in the morning, just like many of you have for last nights pick against the Cavs.

Free Pick:  New York Knicks: Money Line (+6 if you don’t have access to a $ line)

Free Pick Baylor vs Oklahoma State: 2-20-10

February 20, 2010

The Friday Night Freak let you down last night but he still owns a 7-2 record on his favorite night so let’s cut him a break.  Today, I am here to help you out.  The Baylor Bears take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys today in Oklahoma at 1:30.  Baylor is currently ranked 22nd in the nation and are a road underdog here today.  Oklahoma State opened up at giving 1.5 and the line is currently heading down to a pick ‘em because the public is betting it down.

We like the home team here today as the line should be at least a pick ‘em by tip-off.  Go with the Cowboys as they will secure the home victory today and notch a huge Big 12 victory in front of their hometown faithful.

Free Pick:  Oklahoma State Cowboys -1.5

Free Pick: Cleveland Cavaliers vs Charlotte Bobcats: 2-19-10

February 19, 2010

Tonight the Cavaliers head to Charlotte to take on the Bobcats in a Friday Night Fight.  The Cavaliers are a 4.5 point favorite and they will not cover the spread tonight.  Not only will they not cover, they will lose outright.  If you have the ability to bet the money line in this game, you should, in order to maximize your profit.

The Cavaliers are one of the top teams in the NBA and they deserve all of the respect that they get, but, they simply will not win every game and tonight is a tough one.  The Bobcats are tough at home and will stun the Cavs tonight.

Free Pick:  Charlotte Bobcats + 4.5

Cornell vs Harvard 2-19-10

February 19, 2010

Buckle up people, the IVY LEAGUE ANNIHILATOR is back  Sorry if you missed me last week but don’t worry I am back with a huge play tonight in the Ivy League.  Remember this is how I make my living, BETTING ON IVY LEAGUE COLLEGE BASKETBALL, ESPECIALLY ON FRIDAY NIGHTS!  I have been named the FRIDAY NIGHT FREAK and it is because of the boat loads of cash that I make on Friday Night Ivy League games.  Enough about me.  Well not yet, my record this year on Friday Nights in the Ivy League is 7-1.  don’t believe it, you can track it on this sight, most of those games were given out as free plays and tonight we have another one.

Cornell is the cream of the crop in the Ivy League and has been rolling through the competition.  Tonight is a soft line for them, they are laying three points as a road favorite.  The public is ALL OVER Cornell.  We are not! We are better than the general public and we say go with the home underdog tonight and cash out tomorrow!  Bet this one big as the regular season is winding down and there are not too many Friday nights left for me to share with you.

Free Pick:  Harvard + 3

Tiger Woods Apologizes Publicly 2-19-10

February 19, 2010

On Friday Tiger Woods issued a public apology for his behavior that got him in so much trouble.  He apologized to his family, friends and to his fans.  The apology lasted for over thirteen minutes and seemed to come from his heart.  He did not seem quick to try to brush this under the carpet as we did not once hear from him that we need to move on and put this behind us.  He sounded like someone who truly wanted to right his wrongs, which we now know were many, and work on his “addiction” and make things right with his family.  (Don’t we all, us men, have an addiction to sex?  Oops, I was just thinking out loud)  His road to recovery involves sex addiction clinics and a long road of therapy to try to heal the wounds that he inflicted upon his family.  His public persona might never recover from this, only time will tell, but this apology could have only helped.    America is a very forgiving society and I am sure that if he makes things right with his family then he will be able to win over the public as well.

Now, my big question is how does he make this right with his wife?  I mean, I like Tiger and I hope he can do it and thence return to prominence on the golf course.  But, if he pulls this one off then he will have accomplished something even more amazing than anything that he ever did on the golf course.  How do you have sex with all of those women and make things OK with your significant other?  He needs to write a book about that if he pulls it off.   Personally I don’t see his wife ever truly forgiving him but I could be wrong.  Is she staying in it for the money, love, fame or a blend of the three?  Who knows?

Lastly, I do feel that his explanation of having a sex addiction is a cop-out.  I mean really, to proclaim this like it is some sort of legitimate excuse bothers me a bit.  He was banging a lot of hot chicks over and over again.  He cheated on his wife.  But, a sex addiction? I don’t buy it.  He thought that he was on top of the world and was invincible, not subject to the rules that all of us follow or are held accountable to on a day to day basis.  I know all about addiction and I love to have sex, but sex, I don’t believe, is one of the many things that I have ever been addicted to in my life.  Who knows and who cares, what I am looking forward to is to see how this really pans out.  I hope that for his sake he is back on the course shortly and reclaims his spot as the most dominant man in golf and sports as a whole.

Tiger Woods apologizes publicly today.  did you buy it? I did.  I like Tiger and hope he comes out of this alright.  I think that his apology to his friends, family and fans was genuine and not fake like so many of the other public apologies that we have heard in the past from professional athletes that have screwed up like Tiger.
