Louisville Cardinals (4-4) vs. Syracuse Orange (6-2)

Saturday, November 6th, 2010 12:00PM EST

Line: Syracuse -6

Overview:

The Louisville Cardinals have been struggling as of late; losing two out of their last three. Last week the team had two turnovers while failing to get any production from their leader, Bilal Powell. As for Syracuse, the Orange were able to defeat Cincinnati, 31-7. Both Delone Carter and Ryan Nassib had great games to help Syracuse find their sixth win of the season.

Keys to the Game:

–          Quarterback Ryan Nassib for the Orange, rebounded well from his poor performance the week before Nassib was able to pass for a humble 125 yards and two touchdowns in the team’s win. The junior quarterback has thrown for 1,408 yards and 14 touchdowns this season.

–         Bilal Powell had his worst game of the season in the Cardinals loss to Pittsburgh last week. The senior was held to 64 rushing yards and no touchdowns in the game. Powell has been the leading force behind Louisville’s running attack, which ranks 23rd in the nation with 197.6 rushing yards per game.

–         Despite their four losses, Louisville possesses a solid defense that has only allowed 18.8 points per game this season. The defense has been able to put shutouts to Connecticut and Memphis this season.

Syracuse has looked amazing in their two straight wins. The team ranks 88th in the nation in the passing game, averaging 181.1 passing yards per game this season. It’ll be interesting how the Orange offense will matchup against this stable defensive unit in Louisville.
