Maryland Terrapins (6-2) vs. Miami Hurricanes (5-3)

Saturday, November 6th, 2010 12:21PM EST

Line: Miami -8

Miami’s much-anticipated season hit an all-time low last week when the team lost their star quarterback, Jacory Harris, in the first quarter to a concussion. The junior won’t be able to take part in the team’s matchup against the Terps this weekend. Maryland has won their last two games; the team is coming off a dominating, 62-14, win over Wake Forest last week.

Keys to the Game:

–          The Hurricanes’ junior quarterback, Harris took a ridiculous hit against Virginia last weekend that will sideline him for this game. Harris has been an integral part of this team’s offense, passing for 1,646 yards and 14 touchdowns this season. The ‘Canes will most likely hand the football to freshman Stephen Morris for their upcoming game. Morris saw notable playing time for the first time this season after Harris went down last week; throwing for 162 yards, two interceptions and two touchdowns.

–         Maryland’s offense has been up and down this season. The team is 86th in the nation in passing, averaging 184.6 yards in the air. They can also find success in their running game, averaging 139.1 rushing yards per game this season. Their only two losses have come to West Virginia and Clemson this season.

–         Damien Berry had a quiet game last weekend, rushing for only 42 yards. The Hurricanes will need him the most this weekend, when trying to run the offense behind a freshman quarterback. The team’s second-string back, Lamar Miller should continue to see more carries come his way in this one too.

The headless Miami Hurricanes will be tested this weekend against a respectable defense in Maryland. It’s a question whether Terps’ quarterback, Danny O’Brien will be able to continue his recent success against this tough Miami defense after passing four touchdowns last week.
