Eastern Michigan Eagles (0-6) at Ball State Cardinals (2-4)

Line: Ball State -15

Eastern Michigan has lost all six of their games this season, this is because of the problems this team has been having all season on offense. They will face decent competition when heading over to face Ball State this weekend. Ball State is coming off a 45-16 loss to Western Michigan last week, the team had five turnovers in the game.

Keys to the Game:

–          Eastern Michigan’s sophomore quarterback, Alex Gillett is having a solid season for the Eagles. He had his worst game last weekend against Vandy; completing 10 of 20 passes for 99 yards and an interception. So far he’s thrown for 857 yards and seven touchdowns.

–          Ball State’s Kelly Page saw more playing time last weekend, the sophomore threw for 94 yards and a touchdown last week. The team has benefitted from an impressive running game this season, especially behind their short running back, Eric Williams. The sophomore back ran for 54 yards and a touchdown last week.

–          Eastern Michigan just hasn’t been able to do anything on defense this year, allowing opponents to put up 44.3 points against them this season. Their 48-point loss to Vanderbilt best represents how their defense has been all season.

Ball State is the clearly the better team in this meeting. They will most likely utilize their running game, behind Eric Williams and David Brown. Their defense isn’t at its peak but it’s solid enough to contain this Eastern Michigan team from finding any offense. Ball State shouldn’t have any trouble when facing this team at home this weekend.
