Bowling Green Falcons (1-4) vs. Ohio Bobcats (2-3)

Saturday, October 9, 2010 2:00PM EST

Line: Ohio -9.5

Two struggling teams face off here in this MAC showdown, with one of squads coming off a win last week. The Ohio Bobcats were able to handle Eastern Michigan last weekend, 30 to 17. The win was with the help of their leader at quarterback, Boo Jackson. The senior completed 15 of 24 passes for 218 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He also ran for another 60 yards. Bowling Green underwent a disappointing 28-26 loss to Buffalo last week, with their offense rushing for a pathetic total of nine yards.

Keys to the Game:

–          Aaron Pankratz went on to throw three interceptions last week against Buffalo. He had no help from the running backs, with Willie Geter being the leading rusher with 32 yards. Pankratz did have an easier time throwing check down passes to the 5’8’’ senior.

–          Despite playing away, Ohio has gained some momentum before heading into Peden Stadium. Boo Jackson will need the help from their running back, Vince Davidson, who ran for 40 yards and two touchdowns last week. Jackson should be able to improve the team’s terrible passing game that’s ranked 107th in the nation after taking over for Phil Bates.

–          Kamar Jorden needs to pick up his game for Bowling Green to generate wins. The junior had an uncharacteristic game, catching only two patches for twelve yards last week. He’s only been able to catch one touchdown this season, in the team’s only win against Marshall in week three.

Both teams haven’t been able to collect themselves to have a better season thus far. But they both possess some talented players that could change the outcome of this one very quick. But it’s still important that Ohio has been able to get it together for the most part behind their new leader in Jackson.
