Bowling Green Falcons (1-5) vs. Temple Owls (4-2)

Saturday, October 16th, 2010 1:00PM ET

Line: Temple -20

The Temple Owls are coming off a tough loss against Northern Illinois last week. The team was without one of their prime backs in Bernard Pierce, but Matt Brown was able to carry the load, running for 93 yards and a touchdown. Bowling Green is coming off a 25-point loss to Ohio, the team’s quarterback Matt Schilz had playing time, passing for 277 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

Keys to the Game:

–          Bowling Green are 40th in the nation in passing yards, averaging 245 yards a game this season. Their defense has struggled notably; their only win came against Marshall this season. It’s been a long season for the Falcons with a freshman at quarterback.

–          Temple’s best weapon this season has been their running game. They can’t seem to move the ball through the air reliably, averaging 143 yards per game. But the team has continued to take their wins thanks to Matt Brown’s recent explosiveness.

–          Bowling Green’s leading receiver, Kamar Jorden caught eight passes last week for 129 yards and two touchdowns. The junior has caught 50 balls for 554 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Temple has also seen productivity from their quarterback position. Their junior quarterback, Chester Stewart threw for 148 yards, a touchdown and an interception last week. He will need to make some key throws against this slacking defense. Temple should have an easy outing going up against a defense that has given up an average 38.8 points per game this season.
