Connecticut Huskies (3-3) vs. Louisville Cardinals (3-3)

Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 3:30PM ET

Line: Louisville -2.5

Both of these Big East teams suffered losses heading into this one. Louisville poses as favorites, as they return to their home field to take on this solid UConn team. The Connecticut Huskies have relied on their running game this season, averaging 196.3 rushing yards per game this season. Louisville can also run the ball, as they are 18th in the nation, averaging 219.7 rushing yards per game.

Keys to the Game:

–          Louisville had no turnovers in their loss against Cincinnati, but the team had eight penalties for minus 73 yards and was 5-13 on third down conversions. Most of their offense was generated from Bilal Powell, who had 209 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns.

–          The Huskies’ three-point win against Army last week featured great play from the team’s quarterback, Chas Dodd. The freshman quarterback threw 251 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

–          Louisville’s Bilal Powell has rushed for 898 yards and nine touchdowns this season. He’s been an essential part of the team’s scoring attack. Last week’s game was his second straight where he’s rushed for over 200 yards and scored more than one touchdown.

Louisville is the more complete team in this game. They will also be at home and will be able to enforce their efficient running game behind Powell. The Huskies will have trouble slowing down the running game and will be force to rely on their 91st-ranked passing game. The Cardinals should be able to pull through this game with a solid win.
