#25 Florida State Seminoles at Maryland Terrapins

Saturday November 20, 2010 8:00 PM EST

Line: Florida State -4

Florida State has struggled the last couple of weeks to get victories. Their last 4 games have come by 5 points are less and are 2-2 in those games. Maryland will be looking to take over the lead in the ACC Atlantic with a win this week. Maryland has yet to lose a game at home, and look to keep it going in this big time ACC game.

Stats to consider:

Florida State Seminoles:

  • The Seminoles are 7-3 with a 5-2 ACC record.
  • They are 2-2 on the road.
  • Points against per game: 19.1 (19th)
  • Points for per game: 31.9 (34th)
  • Passing yards a game: 213.6 (67th)
  • Rushing yards a game: 186.6 (31st)

Maryland Terrapins:

  • Maryland is 7-3 with a 4-2 ACC record.
  • They are 5-0 at home.
  • Points against per game: 20.7 (30th)
  • Points for per game: 31.4 (38th)
  • Passing yards a game: 192.4 (80th)
  • Rushing yards a game: 134.5 (84th)

What to watch for:

  • Florida State’s starting QB Senior Christian Ponder is still in question as to if he will play. He missed the Seminoles last game and leads the team with 1,647 yards 16 TDs and 7 Ints.
  • Maryland has been lead by Freshman QB Danny O’Brien who has 1,571 yards 16 TDs and 4 Ints. His main target has been Junior WR Torrey Smith who has 752 yards and 8 TDs.

With Christian Ponder’s status in question, this looks to be a tough sports pick. Maryland is going to do whatever it can to win the ACC Atlantic division and will go all out at home. Florida State has struggled but they also have a mission for the season, that could fail with a loss this week.
