Hawaii Warriors at Utah State Aggies

Saturday October 23, 2010 5:00 PM EST

Line: Hawaii -3

Hawaii is coming off a big 27-21 victory over ranked Nevada. They are 5-2 with a 3-0 WAC record. They are 2-1 on the road so they do travel well. Utah State is looking for their first WAC victory as they are 0-2 in conference with a 2-4 overall record. The Aggies are 2-1 at home.

Hawaii has looked decent on defense allowing 26.3 points a game, 70th overall. Their offense has been great ranking in at 12th with 37.6 points a game. They have been hugely ineffective rushing the ball as they average 72.7 yards a game, 117th worst. Their passing game is the best in the nation with 402.4 yards a game. Junior QB Bryant Moniz is the player to watch as he has 2,532 yards with 21 TDs and 4 Ints.

Utah State is allowing 28.3 points a game, 81st overall. Their offense has been poor only putting up 21.7 points a game, 90th worst. They have struggled throwing the football as they rank 86th with 184.8 yards a game. Their rushing game has carried the weight of the offense as they average 173.2 yards a game, 43rd best. Senior RB Derrvin Speight leads the squad with 360 yards and 4 TDs.

Most WAC football picks are tough. Hawaii has looked to good lately for me to go calling this upset. They have shown great things throwing the football as they rank best in the nation. Utah State’s offense and defense will have their hands full as they face a very tough and talented Hawaii team. QB Bryant Moniz has been much watch TV and I don’t see him slowing down anytime soon.
