Iowa State Cyclones at #6 Oklahoma Sooners

Saturday October 16, 2010 7:00 PM EST

Line: Oklahoma -23.5

Big 12 football, always exciting. This game plans to be exciting based on the fact that it should have a lot of points in it. Iowa State is 3-3 on the season with a 1-1 Big 12 record. They are 0-1 on the road this year. Oklahoma is 5-0 on the season with a 1-0 Big 12 record. The bad news for Iowa State is that Oklahoma had the week off last week so they got to watch Utah beat the Cyclones 68-27 in Iowa State.

The worry for Iowa State has to be defense. Their defense is allowing 29.7 points a game, 88th in the nation. Their offense will need to score points and are averaging 26.7 points a game which is 69h overall. Leading this offense is the ground game. They are averaging 154.2 yards on the ground, 63rd overall. Senior RB Alexander Robinson leads the team with 449 yards and 5 TDs. The bad news is that Robinson hurt his foot last week and is going to be a game time decision. Their passing game ranks at 96th with 174.2 yards. Senior QB Austen Arnaud has 958 yards with 8 TDs and 7 Ints.

Oklahoma has allowed 22.8 points a game on defense, 55th in the nation. Their offense has put up 32.8 points a game which is good for 38th overall. The Sooners passing game has lead the team averaging 294.2 yards a game. Sophomore QB Landry Jones is on a tear with 1,457 yards 11 TDs and 3 Ints. The X-factor in this game is Senior RB DeMarco Murray who has 551 yards and 9 TDs. He also has 142 receiving yards with another TD.

With Oklahoma coming off a bye, this is one of the easier football picks. The Sooners have looked very good this season and have the home field advantage. Iowa State is coming off a game where they lost to Utah by 41 points and they were at home. This Sooners team is better than Utah and should have a field day at home.
