Memphis Tigers (1-4) vs. Louisville Cardinals (2-2)

Saturday, October 9, 2010 2:00PM EST

Line: Louisville -17

The Louisville Cardinals are a talented group they have a reliable quarterback in Adam Froman, and a solid running game behind Bilal Powell. The team defeated Arkansas State last week by ten points; Powell had 157 yards and a touchdown to help seal the win. The Memphis Tigers had a terrible showing last week, with only 207 total yards of offense against in a 48 to 7 loss against Tulsa. Their overall offensive efficiency has been a big question for the team all season. They’re facing their third straight loss if they can’t get it together when heading to Louisville.

Keys to the Game:

–          Louisville will look to pick up their second win at home this season. They have an overall better team in many aspects. While their defense hasn’t been up to par all season, their offense has done a decent job moving the ball. Their currently 44th in the nation in average yards per game with 235.5.

–          Memphis owns a tall set of receivers but they haven’t been able to get it to them. Marcus Rucker, could be capable for a breakout season once he finds a quarterback that will give him some looks. He only had one reception for 37 yards in their loss last game.

–          The Cardinal’s running back, Powell has having a strong senior season this year. He’s averaging 6.6 yards per carry, running for 485 total yards and five touchdowns.

Louisville will open this game up quickly with their talented group of players. Their offensive attack is much more established and is prepared to deliver a beating to Memphis’ confused defense. The home field advantage will help fuel the Cardinals to put this game away in cold fashion.
