Miami (Ohio) RedHawks (6-4) vs. Akron Zips (0-10)

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010 6:00PM EST

Line: Miami (OH) -10

The RedHawks are coming off their sixth win of the season, defeating Bowling Green, 24-21 in their last game. The team’s quarterback, Zac Dysert had a sensational game, throwing for 221 yards, while being able to pass and rush in a touchdown. The Akron Zips haven’t won a game all season, their last loss was to Ball State, 37-30.

Keys to the Game:

–          Akron’s recent loss to Ball State was one of their toughest. The team failed to close the victory in overtime, despite forcing five turnovers from Ball State. It was intense to see the Zips tie the game with less than two minutes in regulation, but it the outcome was no surprise.

–          Miami has been able to pass the ball well this season. They are ranked 32nd in the nation, averaging 255.3 passing yards per game behind their quarterback, Zac Dysert. They also looked really good against Buffalo the week before.

–          The RedHawks also saw some better success from their offensive players as of late. Running back, Thomas Merriweather managed to rush for 88 yards and a touchdown for the team in his last game.

The Akron Zips should be doing everything in this one to prevent their 11th loss of the late season. But the Miami RedHawks have also been able to find production from their receiver, Nick Harwell, who had ten catches for 125 yards and a touchdown in the team’s recent win.
