Miami (Ohio) RedHawks (3-3) vs. Central Michigan Chippewas (2-4)

Saturday, October 16th, 2010 12:00PM ET

Line: Central Michigan -13.5

Both of these MAC-conference teams meet up this weekend, looking for a win to steer them back into a solid season. Central Michigan has lost their last three games, and is coming from a beating at Virginia Tech. The Miami (Ohio) Redhawks are also coming off a loss heading into this one. Last weekend the team struggled to get their offense together against Cincinnati, with the final score ending at 45-3.

Keys to the Game:

–          Ryan Radcliff threw another 48 passes in last week’s lost. Completing 21 of them for 266 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. His solid play helped put up points against Virginia Tech, but the team struggled to stop the running game or develop a running game of its own.

–          The Redhawks are also absent of a running attack this season. They are able to move the ball downfield behind their quarterback, Zac Dysert, but the team can’t finish in the red zone. They only ran for 42 rushing yards last week.

–          Central Michigan has seen productivity from their junior back, Paris Cotton. The 5’9’’ back ran for 105 yards off 21 carries last weekend. He’s having his best season for the Chippewas with his newly found playing time; running for 491 yards and five touchdowns.

Central Michigan seems like a more complete squad in this matchup. They understand they can’t afford to lose this game at home against a weaker Miami (OH) team. The team will need their passing game to flourish and Cotton to continue his solid play.
