Saturday, October 16th, 2010 12:00PM ET

Line: Alabama -20.5

Alabama’s stunning loss last week to South Carolina opened up the college world to another season of surprises. The Crimson Tide are now ranked eighth in the nation and are looking to rebound with fashion against Ole Miss on Saturday. The team will be heading back home for this game, after being held to only 36 total rushing yards against the Gamecocks last week. The Ole Miss Rebels are coming off a huge win over Kentucky last week, the Rebels committed no turnovers in their 35-42 win.
Keys to the Game:

– Despite the unbelievable loss, quarterback Greg McElroy had his best game of the season statistically; going 24/34 for 315 yards and two touchdowns. The 22-year-old senior has had an impressive season thus far, and has thrown for 1,298 yards and nine touchdowns this season.

– Ole Miss’ quarterback, Jeremiah Masoli has been more successful in his last two games by making smarter throws and relying on his feet when receivers are covered. Masoli only threw 17 passes last week, he completed nine of them for 90 yards and three touchdowns. He was also able to rush for 43 yards and a touchdown.

– It was certainly surprising to see Alabama struggling to stop the run when facing South Carolina. The nation’s fifth-ranked defense is holding opponents to 13.3 points per game this season. On the offensive side of the ball, Alabama’s leading receiver, Julio Jones caught passes in the team’s practice on Wednesday. While his status remains uncertain for the game, there’s a strong chance he’ll gear up for this one.

Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson haven’t been able to crank up the running yards in their last two games, look for the Tide to go back to their running scheme to take down Ole Miss. The Crimson Tide will be doing everything to crush their SEC opponent this weekend, looking to bounce back strongly from their unexpected loss. The Ole Miss Rebels are riding a two-game winning streak and have looked good as of late. Their offense has scored 97 points in the last two weeks. Look for this one to be a tenacious meeting between the two, with Alabama leaving with a solid lead.
