Mississippi Rebels (3-3) vs. #23 Arkansas Razorbacks (4-2)

Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 12:30PM ET

Line: Arkansas -10

Arkansas is coming off their second loss of the season when they lost to Auburn, 65-43 last week. Despite achieving a total of 566 yards on offense, the Razorbacks had three turnovers and lost their prime quarterback, Ryan Mallett in the first half due to an injury. Mississippi is also coming off a loss of their own when they lost to Alabama last week. Ole Miss failed to capitalize in the winding moments of the game, with the final score reading 23-10.

Keys to the Game:

–          Ole Miss was on a two-game winning streak before they ran into an angry Alabama team. Rebels’ quarterback, Jeremiah Masoli was held to only 110 passing yards and did have an interception in the game. The team’s efficient playmaker, Brandon Bolden, was held to 32 rushing yards off 10 attempts.

–          Ryan Mallett should be back for the team’s game against Ole Miss. Ryan was heating up last week in the team’s game against Auburn, throwing 10/15 for 96 yards and a touchdown. After a shot to the head in the first half, he was sidelined and the Razorbacks suffered their second loss in three games. Expect Mallett to be in full force when going up against this dangerous Mississippi team.

–          Arkansas depended from its established receiving core in last week’s lost. Greg Childs caught nine balls for 164 yards and two touchdowns. While Joe Adams caught seven balls for 87 yards and a touchdown. Expect Mallett to find these guys all throughout their game.

With Mallett’s return, the Razorbacks should be ready for a their big matchup against Ole Miss. The Heisman hopeful has thrown for 1,844 yards and 14 touchdowns so far this season. The Razorbacks are second in the league in passing, averaging 366.3 passing yards per game. Ole Miss is 19th in the nation in running the football, averaging 215.5 rushing yards per contest. Expect this one to be close at times, with the Razorbacks ultimately pulling away.
