College Football Pick Mississippi State at Alabama 11-13-10

November 9, 2010

#19 Mississippi State Bulldogs at #12 Alabama Crimson Tide

Saturday November 13, 2010 7:15

Line: Alabama -13.5

Any dreams of a repeat were crushed last week at LSU when ‘Bama lost 24-21. Mississippi State has been one of the hottest teams as of late as they have won 6 straight. This will be a very exciting SEC game.

Mississippi State Bulldogs:

  • The Bulldogs are 7-2 with a 3-2 SEC record.
  • They are 2-1 on the road this season.
  • Points against per game: 17 (9th)
  • Points for per game: 28.1 (57th)
  • Passing yards a game: 164.6 (101st)
  • Rushing yards a game: 218.7 (14th)

Alabama Crimson Tide:

  • The Tide are 7-2 with a 4-2 record.
  • They are 4-0 at home with only one game within 13 points.
  • Points against per game: 13.8 (5th)
  • Points for per game: 32.8 (31st)
  • Passing yards a game: 250.4 (36th)
  • Rushing yards a game: 177.4 (33rd)

What to watch for:

  • The Bulldogs have not passed the ball well this year. Junior RB Vick Ballard has stepped up with 619 yards and 12 TDs.
  • ‘Bama RB Mark Ingram has 641 yards and 9 TDs this season. Ingram may get more carries as Sophomore RB Trent Richardson suffered a knee injury last weekend. Trent has 634 yards and 5 TDs.
  • The QB to watch in this one is Bama Senior QB Greg McElroy. McElroy has 2,004 yards 13 TDs and 4 Ints.

This is yet another tough football pick this weekend. Both teams have been playing great football this season. Both have ran into good teams, thus resulting in loses. Alabama should come into this game mad with a chip on their shoulder. The Bulldogs will be thinking upset as they have been on a roll. Look for a relatively close football game in this one.
