Mississippi State Bulldogs (4-2) vs. #22 Florida Gators (4-2)

Saturday, October 16th, 2010 7:00PM ET

Line: Florida -7.5

The Gators have lost their last two games against tough SEC rivals. They will look to find their fifth win of the season against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, who’ve won their last three games. The Bulldogs have benefitted from the running of junior running back, Vick Ballard. The Gators will have the home field advantage in this matchup and it should be a big win for them.

Keys to the Game:

–          Quarterback John Brantley has been struggling as of late; throwing no touchdowns and three interceptions in his last two games. So far the junior quarterback has thrown for 1,056 yards and six touchdowns this season.

–          Florida’s leading receiver, Deonte Thompson has a team-high 23 receptions for 328 yards but has yet to catch a touchdown pass. Last week he only caught 2 balls for 20 yards, while also suffering a concussion.

–          Mississippi State must ride behind their running back Vick Ballard. So far the running back has ran in 11 touchdowns this season, while getting 418 yards out of 58 touches. The Bulldogs’ quarterback, Chris Relf only threw for 57 yards last week but ran for 96 yards and a touchdown.

The Gators will be able to storm over this sold Mississippi State team when heading back to Florida this weekend. The Gators have kept an impressive defensive outing earlier this season and have kept tough opponents to average 20.2 points against them this season. Look for Florida to find a better flow within their offensive attack this weekend.
