#21 Missouri Tigers (5-0) vs. Texas A&M (3-2)

Saturday, October 16th, 2010 12:00PM ET

Line: Texas A&M -3.5

In this Big 12 matchup, Missouri looks to hold on to their undefeated record when going up against Jerrod Johnson and the Aggies. Texas A&M is on a two-game losing streak after suffering defeats to Oklahoma State and Arkansas. Missouri’s defense has been impressive this season, they’re third in the nation in points allowed with 11.2. The Aggies will need to continue the impressive passing game they’ve had this season to have a chance to beat out Missouri.

Keys to the Game:

–          Jerrod Johnson threw 40 passes last week, completing only 15 of them for 212 yards. He also had both a touchdown and interception. His number one receiver, Jeff Fuller had another terrific game last week, catching eight passes for 154 yards and a touchdown.

–          Missouri’s defense did a solid job last weekend against Colorado. They weren’t able to stop the pass, as the team threw for 250 yards. But they did hold their opponents to only 61 rushing yards. This team’s defense hasn’t had much attention yet, a big win against a solid team in Texas A&M could garner some praise.

–          Tigers’ quarterback, Blaine Gabbert has been able to continue his solid play throughout the season. Gabbert went 17/29 in passing, throwing for 191 yards and two touchdowns. His play has been an essential factor as to why the team stands tall at 5-0.

Texas A&M will be doing everything to avoid losing their third game in a row. This remains as one of their toughest, as the Tigers’ defense has been having their way against offenses this season. It’s important to note that Missouri hasn’t faced a real tough contender in their first five games; their toughest opponent so far was their first game against Illinois.
