Saturday, November 6th, 2010 3:30PM EST

Line: East Carolina -3

Overview:

Navy is coming off a 3-point loss to Duke, the team was 4-12 on 3rd down conversions couldn’t slow down Duke’s passing game. East Carolina was riding a three-game winning streak before losing a tough one to UCF last weekend. The team ranks ninth in passing this season, averaging 304.1 yards this season.

Keys to the Game:

–          East Carolina’s Dominique Davis is the source of the team’s passing force. The junior quarterback has thrown for 2,333 yards and 21 touchdowns this season. He’s also been able to run in six touchdowns for the team this season.

–         Navy’s Ricky Dobbs passed for 227 yards and two touchdowns last week in the team’s loss. Dobbs was also able to carry the ball 22 times for 83 yards and a touchdown. Look for Dobbs to continue doing everything for the team’s offense.

–        Greg Jones was able to evolve under Navy’s humdrum passing game. The receiver busted out for nine catches for 134 yards and a touchdown. The receiver has a total of 390 yards in the season, and with his play last weekend, expect the team to not shy away from throwing the ball.

East Carolina can definitely pass the ball well while Navy relies on keeping it on the ground. Navy’s defense is known for slowing down other teams, as they only give up an average of 20 points per game this season. Still, East Carolina should be able to score the football in the game enough.
