College Football Pick Nevada at Hawaii 10-16-10

October 15, 2010

#19 Nevada Wolf Pack at Hawaii Warriors

Saturday October 16, 2010 11:30 PM EST

Line: Nevada -7

Nevada has been very impressive this year. They are 6-0 on the season with a 1-0 WAC record. They are 2-0 on the road this year. The Wolf Pack has not had any opponent get within 14 points of them this year. Hawaii is 4-2 this year with a 2-0 WAC record. They are 2-1 at home this year and carry in a 3 game winning streak.

Nevada has been solid on both sides of the football. They are 31st on defense allowing only 18.8 points a game. Their offense has been amazing posting 43 points a game which is 7th best. Their passing game comes in at 51st with 231 yards a game. Their rushing game is 5th in the nation with 314.3 yards a game. Senior RB Vai Taua has 837 yards with 11 TDs this year. Senior QB Colin Kaepernick has 639 yards on the ground with 11 TDs as well, not to mention his 1,321 yards thru the air and 8 TDs.

Hawaii hasn’t looked good on defense allowing 27.2 points a game, 75th in the nation. Their offense has been very good averaging 39.3 points a game which is 11th in the nation. Their rushing game has been hugely ineffective posting 75 yards a game, 117th worst. Their passing game is #1 in the nation with 421.7 yards a game. Junior QB Bryan Moniz has 2,245 yards with 18 TDs and 4 TDs.

Football picks are always tough when it comes to in conference games. Nevada looks to me to be the better team in this game. The line isn’t all that scary and even though this game will be across seas, this shouldn’t be to tough for the Wolf Pack. QB Colin Kaepernick is the player to watch and he should carve up this Hawaii defense.
