#17 Nevada Wolf Pack at Louisiana Tech Bulldogs

Saturday November 4, 2010 3:00 PM EST

Line: Nevada -9

Nevada got a huge win last week against Boise State 34-31 in OT. They now are looking to get higher in the rankings with a big win over the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs come into their home finale with a great deal of confidence as they are fresh off a 2 game road winning streak.

Stats to consider:

Nevada Wolf Pack:

  • The Wolf Pack are 11-1 with a 6-1 WAC record.
  • They are 4-1 on the road.
  • Points against per game: 22.5 (39th)
  • Points for per game: 43.3 (6th)
  • Passing yards a game: 235.5 (47th)
  • Rushing yards a game: 301.4 (4th)

Louisiana Tech Bulldogs:

  • The Bulldogs are 5-6 with a 4-3 WAC record.
  • They are 3-3 at home.
  • Points against per game: 30.3 (85th)
  • Points for per game: 27.6 (57th)
  • Passing yards a game: 221.7 (60th)
  • Rushing yards a game: 177 (36th)

What to watch for:

  • Nevada Senior QB Colin Kaepernick has thrown for 2,671 yards 20 TDs and 7 Ints. He has rushed for 1,029 yards and 17 TDs.
  • Nevada Senior RB Vai Taua has rushed for 1,372 yards and 17 TDs. He also has 205 receiving yards and 3 TDs. He has 6 rushing TDs in his last 3 games.
  • Bulldogs Junior RB Lennon Creer has rushed for 1,132 yards and 10 TDs. Last week at San Jose State he rushed for 252 yards and 3 TDs.

This sports pick will focus on offense. Nevada’s offense has been one of the best in the nation, they were able to outscore Boise State last week in part to some missed field goals. This Wolf Pack defense doesn’t get much credit and should be able to create some space on the score board. Nevada should score at will, while the bulldogs should struggle scoring on this tough Nevada defense.
