Line: North Carolina State -7

North Carolina rebounded last week, after their 41-30 loss to Virginia Tech with a strong win against Boston College. The team was able to ride behind the heroic play of Russell Wilson. East Carolina is also coming off a win last week. The team beat Southern Miss, thanks to their senior receiver Dwayne Harris, who caught 9 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown last week. Look for this to be a close matchup between an established offense in NC State and a solid passing game in the Pirates.

Keys to the Game:

–          NC State’s quarterback, Russell Wilson is having an amazing season this year. Passing for 1,802 yards and 17 touchdowns. In the team’s last game against Boston College, Wilson completed 38 out of his 51 passes, for 328 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

–          East Carolina also holds on to some reliable leadership at the quarterback position also, with their 6’3 junior, Dominique Davis. So far he’s thrown for 1,439 yards and 14 touchdowns this season. He’s been able to lead the team this season with his powerful arm and agility. His number-one target remains in Dwayne Harris, who’s caught 40 receptions for 457 yards and five touchdowns this season.

–          The Wolfpack’s passing game is ranked eighth overall this season. They’re averaging 311 passing yards behind Wilson. The team is also averaging a sky-high average of 37.5 points this season, so look for them to not sway away from their aerial attacking gameplan.

North Carolina State holds the upper hand despite being away from home in this game. Both of the teams should be able to get their offenses going, especially in the air. East Carolina has a lacking defensive secondary that will let Russell Wilson get loose for some big plays. Both teams have shown they’re able to pass the ball, but this game will be decided by whichever defense shows up.
