Saturday December 4, 2010 3:30 PM EST

Line: Oregon -16.5

Oregon comes into the Civil War game against Oregon State with a chance to clinch a shot at the national championship game. They beat Arizona last week 48-29 in impressive fashion. The Beavers were whooped last week at Stanford 38-0 and now will be looking to end their season on a positive note.

Stats to consider:

Oregon Ducks:

  • Oregon is 11-0 with a 8-0 Pac-10 record.
  • They are 5-0 on the road.
  • Points against per game: 18.3 (15th)
  • Points for per game: 50.5 (1st)
  • Passing yards a game: 241.7 (42nd)
  • Rushing yards a game: 300 (5th)

Oregon State Beavers:

  • The Beavers are 5-6 with a 4-4 Pac-10 record.
  • They are 4-2 at home.
  • Points against per game: 25.9 (60th)
  • Points for per game: 24.8 (80th)
  • Passing yards a game: 204.9 (69th)
  • Rushing yards a game: 122.3 (96th)

What to watch for:

  • Oregon Sophomore QB Darron Thomas has thrown for 2,373 yards 26 TDs and 7 Ints. He has rushed for 496 yards and 5 TDs. His main target has been Senior WR Jeff Maehl who has 857 yards and 12 TDs.
  • Oregon Heisman hopeful LaMichael James has rushed for 1,548 yards and 19 TDs.
  • Beavers RB Jacquizz Rodgers has rushed for 1,097 yards and 14 TDs. He also has 267 yards receiving and another 2 TDs.

This is one of the tougher football picks of the week. Oregon knows what they need to do to make this a great season, win. Oregon State will do everything in their power to upset Oregon and have a chance at a bowl game. They will need to take a page out of Cal’s book as they nearly pulled the upset over Oregon 2 weeks ago. You have to slow down this Oregon offense as they are one of the best in the nation.
