Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Cincinnati Bearcats

Saturday November 20, 2010 7:30 PM EST

Line: Cincinnati -13

Rutgers has hit a rough patch in their season. They are on a 3 game losing streak and only have one road win this season, and that was at Florida International. The Bearcats have struggled lately as well, losing 3 straight. Their offense has slumped a bit the last two games in which they had posted only 17 points combined. This is coming from a team tat had yet to score under 14 points in any game previously.

Stats to consider:

Rutgers Scarlet Knights:

  • Rutgers is 4-5 with a1-3 Big East record.
  • They are 1-2 on the road.
  • Points against per game: 19.3 (21st)
  • Points for per game: 20.6
  • Passing yards a game: 178.6 (92nd)
  • Rushing yards a game: 112 (102nd)

Cincinnati Bearcats:

  • The Bearcats are 3-6 with a 1-3 Big East record.
  • They are 2-3 at home.
  • Points against per game: 25.8 (63rd)
  • Points for per game: 25.4 (79th)
  • Passing yards a game: 262.8 (28th)
  • Rushing yards a game: 146.4 (70th)

What to watch for:

  • Rutgers Freshman QB Chas Dodd has thrown for 986 yards 5 TDs and 3 Ints. Dodd has failed to throw for more than 140 yards the last 3 games with 0 TDs altogether.
  • Bearcats Junior QB Zach Collaros has 2,139 yards with 20 TDs and 6 Ints. His main target has been Senior WR Armon Binns with 826 yards and 9 TDs.

This sports pick looks simple to me. Rutgers has played some decent football this year, but I think they will struggle on offense vs a decent Bearcats defense. The Bearcats will need to put up more points as they have struggled in that department as of late. I can see Zach Collaros throwing all day to Armon Binns. The Bearcats have to much offensive firepower to not put up a healthy 30 points in this one.
