Syracuse Orange (5-2) v. Cincinnati Bearcats (3-4)

Saturday, October 20th, 2010 12:00PM EST

Line: NP

Overview:

The Syracuse Orange were able to defeat nineteenth-ranked West Virginia last week, 19-14. The now sits near the top of the Big East conference next to Pittsburgh. Syracuse was able to make some big stop and force three turnovers in the huge win. Cincinnati had a total of twelve penalties for negative 115 yards in their loss to South Florida, the receivers also had a critical amount of dropped passes throughout the game.

Keys to the Game:

–          Syracuse’s Antown Bailey was able to break out for 94 yards in the teams win last week. The junior did an efficient job while receiving limited carries behind the team’s leading running back, Delone Carter. The Orange also benefitted from Carter, as he ran for 75 yards with his nine carries in the game.

–          Cincinnati is 20th in the nation in passing the ball behind their quarterback Zach Collaros. The Bearcats are averaging 282.2 passing yards through the air, and 164.1 on the ground. They have been able to score the ball well all season.

–          Syracuse’s passing game isn’t as effective, but the team does possess a solid running game and a great defense. The Orange should be able to match up well to the Bearcats while playing away.

The Syracuse defense has only been allowing 19 points per game this season. They rebounded well last weekend after losing to Pitt. The Bearcats can strike hard with their offense, they’ve been averaging 30.3 points all season. Look for the Bearcats to upset the Orange in this meeting.
