Syracuse Orange (6-3) vs. Rutgers Scarlet Knights (4-4)

Saturday, November 13th, 2010 3:30PM EST

Line: Syracuse -3

The Syracuse Orange have had a season to watch this year, their star back Delone Carter has been able to keep this team winning games with his seven rushing touchdowns. Their last game was a loss against Louisville, 28-20. The team’s fearful defense will take on Rutgers, a team who’s lost their last two games. The Scarlet Knights’ last game was against South Florida, the team struggled to find any success scoring the ball in the loss.

Keys to the Game:

–          Syracuse Orange carries one of the finest defenses in the nation this season. The team ranks 16th in the nation, giving up an average of 18.7 points this season. Rutgers also carry a respectable defensive crew that currently ranks 31st in the nation.

–          Rutgers’ starting quarterback, Chas Dodd went 19-for-22 in his last game against South Florida. The freshman wasn’t able to connect with any of his receivers for a touchdown for the second consecutive game. The team tremendously suffers as a whole when Dodd gets harassed in the pocket.

–          Syracuse’s starting running back, Delone Carter had another great game for the Orange last week. Carter had 107 yards off 21 carries and a touchdown. The senior quarterback has rushed for 853 yards and seven touchdowns this season.

In this Big East meeting, both teams should look to put together a close and entertaining game. The Scarlet Knights will have some trouble with the Orange defense, but everything will rely on their quarterback, Chas Dodd. Look for the Orange to find their seventh win of the season in this heated matchup.
