College Football Pick Texas A&M at Baylor 11-13-10

November 9, 2010

#25 Texas A&M Aggies at Baylor Bears

Saturday November 13, 2010 7:00 PM EST

Line: Texas A&M -3

The Aggies are on a 3 game winning streak coming into this one. They beat the #8 ranked Oklahoma Sooners last week 33-19. Baylor snapped their 3 game winning streak last week at Oklahoma State 55-28.

Stats to consider:

Texas A&M Aggies:

  • The Aggies are 6-3 with a 3-2 Big 12 record.
  • They are 1-1 on the road.
  • Points against per game: 21.2 (36th)
  • Points for per game: 34.1 (23rd)
  • Passing yards a game: 311.2 (9th)
  • Rushing yards a game: 163 (48th)

Baylor Bears:

  • The Bears are 7-3 with a 4-2 Big 12 record.
  • They are 4-1 at home.
  • Points against per game: 26.3 (66th)
  • Points for per game: 33.7 (26th)
  • Passing yards a game: 300 (12th)
  • Rushing yards a game: 187.8 (29th)

What to watch for:

  • Due to injuries, the Aggies have started QB Ryan Tannehill the last 3 weeks. He has thrown for 854 yards 9 TDs and 3 Ints. Last week vs Oklahoma he went 19-32 for 225 yards 2 TDs and 2 Ints. His main target has been Junior WR Jeff Fuller who has 886 yards and 11 TDs.
  • Baylor Sophomore QB Robert Griffin III has thrown for 2,859 yards 20 TDs and 6 Ints. He has also run for 416 yards and 7 TDs.
  • Baylor has gotten good production out of Senior RB Jay Finley who has 904 yards and 8 TDs this season. He has 7 TDs in his last 4 games.

This is actually one of the tougher sports picks of the week. Baylor hit a road block last weekend at Oklahoma State while the Aggies beat a very good Oklahoma team. Both teams are very talented and this one could come down to who’s defense plays better. I would give the offensive nod to Baylor while the Aggies have the better defense.
