Tulane Green Wave at UTEP Miners

Saturday October 23, 2010 9:05 PM EST

Line: UTEP -10

This C-USA matchup features two teams going in opposite directions. Tulane is 2-4 with an 0-2 C-USA record. They have a two game losing streak coming into this game, and lost last week at tulsa 52-24. They are 1-2 on the road this season. UTEP comes into this game 5-2 with a 2-2 C-USA record. They are 4-0 at home this season and are looking to bounce back after a tough loss at UAB 21-6.

Tulane has struggled mightily on both sides of the football. Their defense has allowed 32.8 points a game, 103rd worst. Their offense is putting up 21.2 points a game, 93rd worst. Their rushing game has only put up 83.8 yards a game, 114th worst. Their passing game has been a bit better averaging 243.7 yards a game, 44th overall. The Green Wave will need a great showing from Freshman QB Ryan Griffin. Griffin has 1,123 yards with 5 TDs and 3 Ints.

UTEP has been much better this season. Their defense is only allowing 21.7 points a game, 45th overall. Their offense is posting 28.7 points a game, 55th overall. The Miners average 152.1 yards a game which is 61st. Their passing game comes in at 38th with 249.7 yards a game. Senior QB Trevor Vittatoe will need to bounce back from a horrible game where he threw 3 Ints and 0 TDs. He has 1,746 yards on the season with 14 TDs and 5 Ints.

This football pick is somewhat obvious. UTEP did look horrible last weekend, but they have a bunch more talent than Tulane. Tulane has not looked good on either side of the football and are 1-2 on the road this season. UTEP will bounce back this weekend in a big way at home.
