College Football Pick UCLA at Washington 11-18-10

November 16, 2010

UCLA Bruins at Washington Huskies

Thursday November 18, 2010 8:00 PM EST

Line: Washington -2

UCLA is coming off a win over Oregon State two weeks ago 17-14. That win has been diminished a bunch considering Washington State got their first Pac-10 win of the year last week at Oregon State. Washington has had a tough 3 game stretch as they are 0-3 the last 3. 2 of those games were on the road and one was at home and the 3 were vs ranked Pac-10 opponents. Washington also is coming off a bye this past weekend.

Stats to consider:

UCLA Bruins:

  • UCLA is 4-5 with a 2-4 Pac-10 record.
  • They are 1-3 on the road.
  • Points against per game: 28.6 (79th)
  • Points for per game: 20.8 (100th)
  • Passing yards a game: 120.8 (116th)
  • Rushing yards a game: 194.4 (27th)

Washington Huskies:

  • Washington is 3-6 with a 2-4 Pac-10 record.
  • They are 2-3 at home.
  • Points against per game: 36.2 (109th)
  • Points for per game: 21.1 (98th)
  • Passing yards a game: 204.7 (72nd)
  • Rushing yards a game: 143.3 (75th)

What to watch for:

  • UCLA Sophomore RB Johnathan Franklin 892 yards and 6 TDs. Last week Franklin had 23 carries for 100 yards and a TD.
  • With UCLA QB Kevin Prince out, Sophomore QB Richard Brehaut played well two weeks ago. He was 13-19 for 127 yards and an Int. He also rushed 18 times for 61 yards and another TD.
  • A broken rib may hold out Huskies QB Jake Locker. This could be his last home game of his college career and will do whatever he can to be out there. Huskies WR Jermaine Kearse has 729 yards and 10 TDs.
  • Washington Sophomore RB Chris Polk has 730 yards and 4 TDs with 128 yards receiving.

This football pick is difficult due to the injury status of Huskies QB Jake Locker. Washington has failed to score more than 16 points in their last 3 games and was shutout at home 4 weeks ago in a 41-0 loss vs Stanford. UCLA has had struggles scoring, but the Washington defense is not looking that strong on defense. They have allowed over 34 points in the last 4 games. Look for UCLA to try to start out their road trip on the right foot.
