UNLV Rebels (1-5) at Colorado State Rams (1-5)

Saturday, October 16th, 2010 2:00PM ET

Line: Colorado State -3

Both teams are on two-game losing streaks heading into this one. Colorado State has faced some tough competition in their last two weeks against TCU and Air Force. UNLV looked terrible against West Virginia last weekend, losing 49-10. The Rebels had two turnovers, hogged the ball for 36 minutes and only managed to score ten points.

Keys to the Game:

–          Colorado State’s Pete Thomas has thrown for 1,333 yards and five touchdowns in his freshmen season. Last week against a tough competitor in Air Force, he threw for 136 yards and a touchdown. He should look forward to heading back home for this evenly matched game.

–          Leonard Mason erupted for the Rams last week. The senior quarterback hasn’t done anything all year until he ran for 139 yards and a touchdown against Air Force.

–          Omar Clayton has been UNLV’s only source of offense this season for the most part. The senior quarterback has thrown for 827 yards and five touchdowns. In the team’s win against New Mexico, he shined throwing for 194 yards and three touchdowns.

UNLV should be able to put up a tough matchup against Colorado State in their house. Clayton needs to have a better game against the Rams’ defense. This game shouldn’t been too pretty, but expect UNLV to make some big plays for their second win of the season.
