College Football Pick UTEP at UAB 10-16-10

UTEP Miners at UAB Blazers

Saturday October 16, 2010 4:00 PM EST

Line: UAB -2.5

This game is essential to how the UAB season will go in the C-USA. UTEP comes into the game 5-1 and are 2-1 in C-USA. The Miners are 1-1 on the road and are riding a 4 game winning streak. The Blazers bring in a 1-4 record and are 0-2 in C-USA. They are 1-1 at home.

UTEP comes into this game as the much hotter team. Their defense ranks at 48th only allowing 21.8 points a game. Their offense is averaging 32.5 points a game, 40th overall. Leading the offense has been the passing game which averages 263.2 yards a game, 28th overall. Senior QB Trevor Vittatoe has looked very good throwing for 1,577 yards with 14 TDs and only 2 Ints. The Miners ground game has averaged 167.5 yards a game, 50th overall. The running game is lead by Junior RB Joseph Banyard who has 344 yards with 5 TDs. The Miners also should have RB Donald Buckram back from injury.

The Blazers will have their hands full on both sides of the football. Their defense ranks at 104th allowing 33.4 points a game. Their offense has struggled only putting up 21.6 points a game which is 88th. Although they have not scored much, they have put up some big yardage totals rushing and throwing the ball. Their passing game comes in at 43rd with 238 yards a game. Their rushing game comes in at 49th with 168.6 yards a game. The player to watch in this game is Sophomre QB David Isabelle. Isabelle has struggled throwing but has rushed for 389 yards and 4 TDs which leads the team.

This is one of the most shocking lines I have seen in awhile. UTEP is by far the better football team, making this one of the easiest football picks. They have a 4 game winning streak and are getting 2.5 points. Take UTEP with high confidence because UAB has failed to show that they can string together wins, let alone get their second of the year.
