Line: Virginia -1

The Virginia Cavaliers have looked pretty decent as of late, winning their last two games before heading into this ACC meeting against a struggling Duke team. The Cavaliers were able to upset the Miami Hurricanes last week, 24-19. The win marked the team’s fourth of the season, snapping their previous three-game losing skid. Duke finally pulled out their second victory of the season over Navy, winning 34-31 over Navy last week.

Keys to the Game:

–          Duke was a six-game losing streak before their win last week over Navy. The team’s quarterback, Sean Renfree broke out with two rushing touchdowns while passing for another. The sophomore quarterback has had his growing pains this season for the Blue Devils, but he has been able to throw for 2,051 yards and 11 touchdowns.

–         Last week, Virginia forced five turnovers out of the Miami Hurricanes. While the ‘Canes lost their starting quarterback in the first half, they shouldn’t of loss this one. Virginia looked solid in the game, being able to air it out for a total of 176 yards and gaining 185 more yards on the ground.

–         Virginia saw another great game from their stud back, Keith Payne. The senior was able to gain 81 yards on the ground and score two touchdowns for the team. For the season, Payne has a total of 552 yards off 113 carries, he’s been able to run in 12 touchdowns this season.

This ACC meeting looks somewhat even on paper. Both teams have had their shares of struggles this season. The Virginia Cavaliers will be away in this game, but they do have some more experience in the back field. Look for the Cavaliers to find their fifth win in this game, their solid defense should do the job against Duke’s Sean Renfree.
