Southern California Trojans at Arizona Wildcats

Saturday November 13th, 2010 8:00 PM EST

Line: Arizona – 4 1/2

The #18 Arizona Wildcats are an impressive 7-3. What is not impressive is the fashion that they lost last week in their 42-17 loss against Stanford. USC has been hit or miss this season, but they are still 6-3 this season. Arizona doesn’t look like they are going to make their first Rose Bowl appearance, but a loss here will seal their fate.

Keys to the Game:

  • Matt Barkley looks like a professional quarterback. He has been absolutely flawless in his execution of the pro style offense. Barkley has thrown three times as many touchdowns as picks this season, with 24 on the year. He has become the face of the USC program. Although he isn’t playing for a Bowl appearance, Matt Barkley and the USC Trojans have made it clear they aren’t going to lay down due to the sanctions.
  • Freshman Robert Woods has emerged as a sure handed deep threat. He runs crisp routes and has a habit of creating space between himself and the defender. Woods has earned the trust of Barkley and will likely be among the elite in the country next year.
  • Nick Foles came back, but nobody noticed. Foles had a miserable first game back. He only threw one interception, but he looked flustered and out of sync. Stanford had his number and the Trojans will try to duplicate the Cardinal performance. The Wildcats are a pass happy team. IF Foles fails to get anything going, so will the Wildcats.

Wrap Up:

The Trojans have dominated at times and looked suspect at other times. While they are going into Arizona, the Trojans will encounter a team that is in complete disarray. The Wildcats have only dropped two games this season, but the Trojans face them at an opportune time. USC has a good chance to win this game outright.
