Ohio at Central Michigan 12-4-09

Ohio comes into this game off its most important win in years. The Bobcats needed a victory to overtake Temple to grab the East title for the right to take on Central Michigan in the MAC Championship game. However, they are ravaged by injuries to many key components. Quarterback Theo Scott is questionable after needing crutches for a banged-up ankle and the team’s second leading receiver, LaVon Brazill, also left the Temple game on crutches.

One has to wonder how much this team has left after gutting it out against the Owls. Central Michigan is undefeated in MAC play at 8-0. Not only do the Chippewas lead the conference in scoring, they are number one in scoring defense as well. They also have a slight advantage with the game being played in Detroit. Central Michigan destroyed Ohio, 31-10, when these two teams met in the MAC Championship game in ’06 and the Chippewas will do so again in ’09.

The Chippewas are 10-2 SU and 9-2 ATS this season, 3-0 ATS in their last three. They are 4-2 to the under in their last six. Ohio is 9-3 SU and 7-4 ATS in ’09, also 3-0 ATS in its last three – all overs. Central Michigan is 3-0 both SU and ATS the last three meetings.
I like Central Michigan in this matchup.
