Atlanta Hawks (27-15) vs. Miami Heat (30-12)

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011 7:30PM EST

Line: Miami -6

Overview:

  • The Heat are coming off a three-point loss to the Chicago Bulls in their last game. Dwyane Wade led the bunch with 33 points, six rebounds and four assists in the loss. Wade should be expected to suit up against Atlanta despite his sour knee, both Bosh and James are questionable.
  • The Heat are eighth in the rebounding this season and tenth in scoring. They will need Wade to have a productive outing against the Hawks. A big role player should be Carlos Arroyo, the 31-year-old point guard is averaging 6.5 points and 2.2 assists this season, but should see more playing time in this one.
  • The Hawks managed to find their 27th win of the season last night, defeating the Sacramento Kings by two points. Joe Johnson had 36 points and six assists in the victory.
  • Johnson is averaging 19.2 points and 5.4 assists per game this season, ultimately shooting 59% from the field. He’s been scoring with ease lately for Atlanta, and the team has only lost once this month.

Game Forecast:

The Hawks should give Miami some troubles, especially with the absence of Chris Bosh to help extend the defense. Atlanta is ranked fourth this season in assists per game and are 18th in scoring this season. This contest should come down to the wire, Joe Johnson and Al Horford will need to put up some points throughout the stretch.
