Golden State Warriors (8-11) vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (13-7)

Sunday, December 5th, 2010 7:00PM EST

Line: Oklahoma City -8.5

Overview:

The Oklahoma City Thunder suffered their seventh loss last Friday, going down to the Raptors 111-99. The Warriors also suffered a loss in their last outing, losing to the Suns, 107-101, last Thursday night. Golden State will look to travel their ninth-ranked offense over to Oklahoma City for their ninth win.

Keys to the Game:

–          Most of the heavy scoring is done by the team’s slick guard, Monta Ellis, who tallied 38 points against Phoenix in his last game. Ellis is averaging 24.9 points along with 2.4 steals per game this season.

–         Oklahoma City also carries a high-powered offense that’s ranked seventh in the league. Their two main scorers are behind Kevin Durant (27.3 ppg.) and Russell Westbrook (24.4 ppg.). The Thunder will need to make more stops against the Warriors, so far this season they’ve been allowing 103.4 points per game this season.

–       Stephen Curry has been able to up his scoring for the Warriors this season. While averaging a team-high 5.8 assists this season, he’s been able to average 20.1 points per game this season.

Game Forecast:

Both of these offenses are loaded with players that can fill up the charts on any given night. Both Durant and Westbrook should soar against this offensive-minded team. The main focus will rely on which back court can outscore the other and which role players can come up big late down the stretch. The Warriors should make some strong efforts in this one and should make it closer than expected.
