Houston Rockets (16-16) vs. Portland Trail Blazers (17-16)

Sunday, December 2nd, 2011 9:00PM EST
Line: Portland -3
Overview

  • The Blazers have let the losses catch up to them due to the several injuries hampering the roster. They will now be without one of their star players in Brandon Roy for an extended period of time. But on a lighter note, they’ve won five out their last seven behind the play of Aldridge and Matthews.
  • The Blazers were able to win in their last game, defeating the Utah Jazz on Thursday. Wesley Matthews led the team in scoring with his 30 points, he’s averaging 15.8 points this season.
  • The Rockets managed to carry a terrific record of 11-4 throughout the month of December. Luis Scola has been able to become a workhorse for the team’s offense, averaging 19.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per game this season.
  • Houston is among the top ten in the league in scoring, rebounding and assists so far this season. The team has benefited from the return of their starting point guard, Aaron Brooks, who’s averaging 13 points and 5.1 assists per game this season.

Game Forecast:

The Rockets have looked really strong as of late, carrying an offense that’s ranked fourth in the league in scoring. They’ve seen plenty of productive play coming from players such as Kyle Lowry and Chase Budinger lately also. Portland has the talent to put this team away at home but the Rockets’ offense should be able to take this contest.
