Phoenix Suns (13-15) vs. Los Angeles Clippers (8-22)

Sunday, December 26th, 2010 3:00PM EST

Line: Los Angeles -1

Overview:

  • The Clippers come in as favorites in this matchup, they’re 4-6 in their last ten games. Their last game was a loss against Houston, 97-22.
  • Suns’ guard, Vince Carter, remains up in the air whether the 12-year-vet will play. Carter has been averaging 15 points a game this season while playing for Orlando. The team’s point guard, Steve Nash is having a great season spreading the ball, averaging just over ten assists this season.
  • The Clippers have suffered recently with their of their front court players (Brian Cook, Chris Kaman and Craig Smith) sidelined for upcoming games. The team’s young rookie, Blake Griffin has dominated in the post though, grabbing 18 boards while scoring 24 points in the team’s last game.
  • Los Angeles remains fifth in the league in rebounding this season. They’re seeing terrific play from their shooting guard, Eric Gordon. The 21-year-old guard is averaging 23.7 points and 4.6 assists per game this season.

Game Forecast:

The Clippers should be able to find plenty of scoring opportunities when facing Phoenix’s weak defense. The Suns are second in the league in scoring though, and have developed into a smarter team that takes better shots with the absence of Jason Richardson. Jared Dudley has benefited from this also, scoring 33 points and nabbing 12 rebounds in his last game.
