Sacramento Kings (9-28) vs. Detroit Pistons (13-26)

Saturday, January 15th, 2011 7:30PM EST

Line: Detroit -5

Overview:

  • The Pistons managed to pick up a rare win last night; defeating the Toronto Raptors behind Tracy McGrady’s 22 points. McGrady has only been averaging 6.5 points this season but has recently earned a starting spot alongside Rodney Stuckey.
  • The Pistons have won two out of their last six games. Their offense is ranked 24th this season and they’re allowing an average of 100.4 points this season. It will be interesting to see how they will do behind Stuckey and McGrady when facing Sacramento’s weak defense.
  • Sacramento has looked terrible for most of this season. They haven’t been able to win more than two games in a month this season until their big win last night against the Knicks.
  • The Kings are a solid team around the glass, ranking eighth in the league in rebounding. The team’s leading rebounder is their rookie, DeMarcus Cousins. The 20-year-old is averaging 12.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game this season.

Game Forecast:

The Kings have only won nine games all season. Detroit will need to contain Sacramento’s leading scorer, Tyreke Evans if they plan to win two straight. The Pistons will also need to keep a keen eye on Beno Udrih, who scored a game-high 29 points in the Kings’ stunning defeat of the Knicks in New York.
