Miami Heat (4-1) vs. New Orleans Hornets (4-0)

Monday, November 5th, 2010 8:00PM EST

Line: Miami -6.5

Overview:

The Hornets have been able to kick-off their season by winning their first four games, their matchup against Miami will be the team’s biggest challenge this season. Chris Paul has been able to average 21.3 points and 9 assists for the Hornets this season, while receiving critical play from his sidekick David West. Miami remains on their four-game winning streak, and currently stand at one of the league’s best defensive teams, allowing only 84 points per game this season.

Keys to the Game:

–          The Miami Heat shredded the T’Wolves last Tuesday, winning 129-97. Wade had 26 points, while James dropped 12 assists in the victory. LeBron James is slowly evolving to the point-forward he’s striving to be; he currently leads Miami with 7.2 assists per game this season.

–          The Hornets are an underrated, but strong defensive squad. They’re sixth in the league, allowing an averaging of 93.8 points per game this season. Trevor Ariza has helped the team’s perimeter defense with his 2.8 steals per game this season, while Emeka Okafor has been averaging 2.5 blocks this season.

–          Chris Bosh has been decent for the Heat thus far, he’s averaging 13 points and 6.4 rebounds per game this season. Dwyane Wade has been able to relax on his scoring, while still averaging a team-high, 22.4 points per game.

Game Forecast:

This will definitely be one to watch between these two squads. The Hornets are playoff hungry this season, but are still a trade away from becoming one of the elite squad in their division. The Miami Heat have been sizzling as of late, and could potentially give the Hornets their first loss of the season. Surely, the Hornets will do everything to shake the odds, but Miami should be able to takeover this game towards its end.
