Utah Jazz at Miami Heat

Tuesday November 9, 2010 7:30 PM EST

Line: Miami -10

Utah needed a day off badly after a 109-107 overtime victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. Miami last played Saturday in which they beat the Nets 101-89. The Heat started out the year with a loss and followed that loss with four straight wins. Look for the Heat to try to carry a winning streak into their next matchup with the Celtics Thursday.

Stats to consider:

Utah Jazz:

  • The Jazz are 3-3.
  • They are 1-2 on the road.
  • Points allowed a game: 103.2 (22nd)
  • Points for a game: 102.3 (12th)
  • Rebounds per game: 42.5 (11th)
  • Assists per game: 23.5 (4th)

Miami Heat:

  • The Heat are 5-2
  • They are 3-0 at home with all victories coming by 12 points or more.
  • Points allowed a game: 86.4 (1st)
  • Points for a game: 99.6 (17th)
  • Rebounds per game: 42 (17th)
  • Assists per game: 20.7 (14th)

What to watch for:

  • With the loss of Carlos Boozer in the offseason, the Jazz needed some bigs to step up. They went out and signed C Al Jefferson and he has worked out real well scoring 18.3 PPG and getting 9.5 RPG. PF Paul Milsap is their leading scorer and he has put up 20.3 PPG and 11.2 RPG.
  • PG Deron Williams continues to show that he is one of the best at his position. He is averaging 20.2 PPG 9 APG with 5.2 RPG.
  • This Heat team still revolves around Dwayne Wade. Wade is averaging 24.1 PPG 6.4 RPG and only 3.7 APG.
  • Lebron James is averaging 20.7 PPG 4.7 RPG and 7.9 APG. Chris Bosh is putting up 14.4 PPG 5.4 RPG and 1 BPG.

The Heat have shown that they are the real deal and while they might struggle at times throughout the year, they are very talented. They have a very good bench making it tough to bet against them in any sports pick. Lebron does have a shin bruise, but after the two days off he should be alright. The Jazz still have a pretty good team around Deron Williams, but they nearly lost to the Clippers at home in overtime. Wade and company will be looking to put on a show at home.
