College Football Pick Wake Forest at North Carolina State 11-13-10

November 10, 2010

Wake Forest Demon Deacons at North Carolina State Wolfpack

Saturday November 13, 2010 2:00 PM EST

Line: NC State -18

Wake Forest started the season out with 2 straight wins, but since then have lost 7 straight. They have been beaten by 31 points in all 4 of their road loses this season and have yet to win a road game. NC State has struggled a bit lately after starting the season out with 4 straight wins. They have lost 3 of their last 5.

Stats to consider:

Wake Forest Demon Deacons:

  • Wake Forest is 2-7 with a 1-5 ACC record.
  • They are 0-4 on the road with none of those games within 4 TDs.
  • Points against per game: 38.8 (112th)
  • Points for per game: 25.1 (76th)
  • Passing yards a game: 158.2 (107th)
  • Rushing yards a game: 168 (42nd)

NC State Wolfpack:

  • The Wolfpack are 6-3 with a 3-2 ACC record.
  • They are 4-1 at home.
  • Points against per game: 22.7 (50th)
  • Points for per game: 32.6 (34th)
  • Passing yards a game: 286.4 (18th)
  • Rushing yards a game: 134 (84th)

What to watch for:

  • Wake Forest has been poor throwing the football. As a result, Freshman Josh Harris has asked to be a huge contributor. The Wake RB has 91 carries for 524 yards and 5 TDs to lead the team.
  • Wolfpack Junior QB Russell Wilson has 2,514 yards 20 TDs and 11 Ints. He has only thrown more TDs than Ints once in the last 5 weeks.
  • The Wolfpack will establish the run with Freshman RB Mustafa Greene who has 521 yards and 4 TDs on the season. He also has 201 receiving yards and another TD.

This is one of the easier football picks of the week. Wake Forest has not looked very good since the beginning of the season and they are in self-destruct mode. On the other side of the football NC State has slid a bit as of late but I think vs a weaker opponent and being at home, they should be able to handle this matchup relatively easy.
